The Noord-Hollandpad is a unique, signposted long-distance hiking route through the ‘inlands’ of the Province of North Holland. In total, the trail measures an impressive 270 kilometres (168 miles). The Noord-Hollandpad offers lots of variation, taking you along winding dikes and straight canals, through farm lands, on unpaved paths and across gates. The route is divided into several specially signposted stages. During the breeding season of the meadow birds, which runs from March to July, the parts of the Noord-Hollandpad that run right through meadow areas are closed off to the public. Along the route you’ll also encounter a ‘pull-it-yourself’ ferry that you can use to cross the Eierlands Canal.
